The University of Brighton is honoured to host the 2016 Design Research Society 50th Anniversary Conference. We aim to create a prestigious and landmark event for the DRS and provide a bespoke, high-quality conference experience.

Over the past 50 years design research has established a firm basis for our understanding of design. For DRS2016 we invite you to join us in considering how design research can help us address the problems we face now and the challenges that lie ahead. We ask:

  • How can design research help frame and address the societal problems that face us?
  • How can design research be a creative and active force for rethinking ideas about Design?
  • How can design research shape our lives in more responsible and open ways?

Join us in Brighton, on the UK’s south coast, from 27th to 30th June 2016 to engage meaningfully and productively in moving design research forwards, into the next 50 years.

Whatever your field of design research we encourage you to participate, to show the true diversity of our subject area, and to help us build a conference formed and shaped by the people that come. We will be developing new formats for participation and interaction whilst rigorous peer review and high quality paper presentation remain central to the conference experience.

Further details about conference themes and submission will follow shortly.

Preliminary Deadlines
Full Papers: Sunday 8th November 2015
