The aim of MTD2017 is to bring together international participants interested in the recent advances in the art and practice of product design and to promote the discussion around this topic. The conference is intended for a wide audience including designers, engineers, architects, academics, researchers, product manufacturers and material suppliers, among others.
All major aspects of design and technology will be addressed. They include the following topics: meaningful technologies; meaningful design experiences; the use of new materials; the meaning of materials in design; computer and experimental methods; sustainability contribution by technology; the borderline between design and technology; acceptability of technology by various target groups; teaching meaningful technology in design courses; the role of materials and materials processing in product design; the history of the relationship between designer and engineers.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – Prospective authors are invited to submit one page abstract, of no more than 500 words, before June 15 2016, in electronic form via the conference website. Authors will be notified on the acceptance of their abstracts no later than September 15, 2016. Papers must be submitted due to December 15, 2016. Acceptance will be notified before February 15, 2017.
CALL FOR MINI-SYMPOSIA AND SPECIAL SESSIONS – Participants interested in organizing a mini-symposium or a special session as part of MTD2017 are requested to submit a proposal to the conference Secretariat by June 2016.
