The Department of Communication and Cognition in the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences is looking for an enthusiastic and creative new researcher in the area of New Media Design.
This position is divided into 70% for research and 30% for teaching, optimally preparing for a future academic career.
The research will be part of the recently started New Media Design (NMD) program, and will be associated with the new NMD lab which will be opened in early 2020.
Candidates are asked to submit a proposal for their own research project, including a motivation, research question, and planning. The project should result in at least four publications at leading conferences or top journals in the field, which will collectively form a PhD thesis. Potential topics include (in alphabetical order): creativity and design, design research, eHealth/mHealth, games and storytelling, human-robot interaction, inclusive design, interactive data visualisation, participatory design, persuasive technology, social media design/use, and virtual reality.
Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the NMD teaching program, co-supervising student projects and co-teaching courses on, for example, user experience design, rapid prototyping, design methods or evaluation.
