Dates: 11-14 August 2020
Location: Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia
Website: DRS2020
Deadline for submissions: UPDATED 16 December 2019
As with the previous DRS biennial conferences, DRS2020 will be one of the major forums to discuss and present cutting-edge design research. DRS2020 invites high-quality research papers, together with conversation and workshop proposals. The main conference theme of SYNERGY will explore design research as a driver for creating transformative change for good, through collaboration and co-creation. Synergy is a powerful force where voices in design research become stronger together. Please visit DRS2020.org for the full call for papers and the sub-themes for the conference.
Full original papers of up to 5000 words can be submitted to respond to the conference call and themes, or emerging issues in design research. For proceedings of past conferences, please see https://www.designresearchsociety.org/cpages/publications-1#conferenceproceedings.
Workshops are half and full day interactive sessions aiming to convey research results and bring together design researchers and design practitioners in academia, in the public sector, and in business and industry.
Conversations engage a limited number of attendees in open exchange in arriving at new understandings about a particular topic. Conversations provide an environment where a constructive dialogue can take place about issues of importance in Design Research, particularly to promote exchanges about topics not easily captured by the scholarly paper.
DRS2020 will comprise a participatory event offering PhD students a forum to present, share and discuss with each other and with senior academics the issues they encounter in doing a PhD in design research.
Best wishes from the DRS2020 Conference Committee.
Conference Chairs:
Ming Cheung, Griffith University
Rebecca Cain, Loughborough University
Programme Committee Chair:
Stella Boess, Delft University of Technology.
