Design Science by Hubka & Eder

Design Science, by V. Hubka and E. Eder, is one of the seminal works of European engineering design.

Late in his career, and after Prof. Hubka’s death, Prof. Eder approached me to help him make Design Science available to everyone on the internet. The original files, which he had had released to him from the publisher (Springer London), were in WordStar. Slowly, we translated them into WordPerfect, and eventually into HTML.

Since about 2006, Design Science existed on my web server. That version is still available thanks to the amazing Internet Archive. However, I wanted to have my own version, unencumbered by the need for a web server.

I have therefore converted the entire book from HTML into a single, somewhat imperfect, PDF file. The content is all there; the format is a bit… outdated.
