The theme of the inaugural workshop is Designing Engineering Design Education in Canada.
In alignment with the workshop theme, submissions are expected to fall under the following topics:

Participation at the workshop
Attendees are invited to (co-)author one or more contributions. Participation by attendees will be in the form of podium or poster sessions, grouped by theme. Authors are invited to state their preference for presentation format in their extended abstract submission. Submitting authors will also be required to review one other abstract submission.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will receive a preliminary proceedings containing near-final manuscripts of all presented papers. After the workshop, authors of selected papers and posters will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers to a Special Issue of the International Journal of Engineering Education. These submissions will be subjected to further peer review.

- Exploration of methods in design practice, teaching, and research
- The role and impact of engineering accreditation requirements
