The concept mapping community (Cmappers) will reconvene in Medellín, Colombia, from Sept. 26-28, 2018, for the 8th International Conference on Concept Mapping. This conference follows on the success of the seven worldwide conferences on Concept Mapping held in Pamplona (Spain), San José (Costa Rica), Tallinn (Estonia) / Helsinki (Finland), Viña del Mar (Chile), Valletta (Malta), Santos (Brazil) and Tallinn (Estonia), and the regional Asian-Pacific conference held in 2017 in Beijing, China, in bringing together scholars and practitioners interested in concept mapping.
The conference will accept both academic papers for peer-review publication and innovative experiences from teachers and instructors, or the workplace. The conference will also include tutorial workshops led by concept mapping experts. A Call for Papers will be sent out soon. Submissions will be accepted in English and Spanish.
The conference will include a Teachers Forum, a track dedicated to teachers interesting in learning about concept mapping and how to use them to improve their students' learning, as well as to teachers with experience in the use of concept mapping and interested in more advanced use of concept maps. This track will include tutorial workshops, presentations of experiences by teachers, and participation in the plenary talks and poster sessions of the conference. CMC2018 is being organized by Universidad EAFIT (Colombia), IHMC (USA) and the Concept Mapping Academy (Estonia).
